We are delighted and proud to announce that Arteccentrix Fine Art Gallery Ltd is once again preparing for another unique and fresh solo art exhibition and sale, this time featuring another of Cayman’s most talented and well loved artists, Gordon Solomon, together with his wife Alta Solomon.

The show, entitled “Sweet Life – Infinite Games” is scheduled to open on September 23rd at 6pm and all are welcome to join us for an evening of fine art paintings and photography, accompanied as always by some fine wines courtesy of our show sponsors, Tortuga Liquors, to whom we are forever appreciative for their support both of the local arts scene in general and many of our own openings and shows. (The featured wine at this event will be Alice White for the vino lovers among you).

Pepper Patch Gourmet Pepper Jellies another of our regular sponsors will once again be on hand to add a little Cayman spice to the evening’s proceedings.

As with all of our solo shows, the work on display will be entirely new and not seen anywhere before. Whilst we do not wish to give too much away at this early stage, Gordon’s approach to this show has been to produce an entirely unique collection of works which may surprise even those who are already familiar with his trademark styles.

Alta will be showcasing some of her photographic work although at the time of writing we can’t say too much about the theme or content of her pieces.

This husband and wife outing is a first for Arteccentrix although Gordon and Alta have collaborated in the past with shows both locally and internationally.

The show will run from September 23rd until October 9th and we will post more images here and at the Arteccentrix Gallery Facebook page after the show’s opening for anyone who is unable to attend.

We are thrilled that we are able to launch the upcoming season here on Cayman with such an exciting show from two of the nation’s best loved and passionate artists and hope that you will be able to join us, and take the opportunity to meet the artists, on the opening night at Governor’s Square.

Doors will be open from 6pm onwards and we look forward to welcoming you on the night. If you know of others who would be interested in attending, all are welcome so please pass on our invitation to friends and colleagues.

Arteccentrix Welcomes Steve Joscelyn

Steve Joscelyn is a full time photographer living and working in the Cayman Islands and we are pleased to announce that we will be showing a selection of his beautiful fine art photography at the gallery in the days and weeks ahead.

Whilst fine art photography is not a medium we have ever specialized in, we feel that the diversity it brings to the gallery will be enjoyed and appreciated by many of our visitors and we are confident that the quality of Steve’s work puts him amongst the top photographers working on Grand Cayman at present. We are very happy to be working with him and to have the chance of displaying a wonderful selection of his strictly limited edition prints.

Each photograph will be limited to a run of just twenty-five high quality canvas prints. Once they are sold they will not be available anywhere else, at any time. The prices for these limited editions, whilst reflecting the quality of the work and limited availability are very reasonable indeed and if you love photography, or indeed any kind of art, you will not want to miss them.

Introducing Cayman Artist Luelan Bodden

Cayman artist Luelan Bodden has earned himself a reputation for his striking and often controversial choice of subject matter, but there is no doubt that he is one of Cayman’s finest talents.

Producing fine art and sculptures covering an eclectic variety of themes, his work is visually stunning and has certainly placed  Mr Bodden on the fringe, or, depending on your viewpoint, the cutting edge, of Caymanian art. Not one to shy away from topics often deemed “avant guard” such as sexuality, he is equally at home producing detailed sculptures of a more neutral nature such as his Blue Iguana project for the less sensitive of his viewers. Luelan has the true spirit of an artist, with a devil may care attitude when it comes to his work, believing strongly that art should evoke a reaction, an emotional response, in the viewer, and his audience are rarely disappointed on that score.

In this video, Luelan takes us on a quick tour of his own workshop and gallery and talks about several of his pieces, and the inspiration behind them. If you are unfamiliar with his work, this provides a great cross section of his talent and a nice personal commentary by the artist.

With the new gallery only a few weeks away from opening its doors to the public, Arteccentrix hopes to bring some of Mr Bodden’s finest work to visitors in the months ahead, although what he will allow us to show will probably remain a mystery to us until this elusive talent feels he has something to exhibit. Whatever it might be, you can be sure it will be worth seeing.

Please feel free to leave your comments and feedback below – we hope you enjoy meeting Luelan Bodden.

Cayman Art Entered In Silent Charity Auction

At a recent casino night charity event organized by the Rotary Club Of Grand Cayman Sunrise in aid of the disabled we are pleased to have been able to donate one of Nickola McCoy-Snell’s original paintings to aid the fundraising efforts.

Pictured here is the artwork entitled “Heavenly Heliconia” which was entered into a silent auction on the night.

Unfortunately we cannot confirm how much the Painting raised, nor who the winning bidder was on the night.

We do know however that all the money raised is going to a very worthy cause and the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise tell us that the event raised in the region of CI$35,000 which is a tremendous result. We offer our congratulations to all concerned in making the night such a success.
