Interruption I and II - Greg Lipton

After opening the doors to her first commercial gallery in February 2010, Arteccentrix owner Nickola McCoy-Snell has dedicated herself to promoting Cayman art and local artists and provided the finest location for many artists to showcase and sell their work to discerning art buyers and collectors, both in the Cayman Islands and overseas.

Nickola’s passion, belief, inventiveness and original thought formed a large part of the Arteccentrix philosophy of bringing art, artists and art lovers together in a setting befitting the high standards, talent, value and elegant culture that fine art represents.

After a year of operating out of a premises in Governors Square, representing some of the island’s best established and emerging talents, and providing tireless promotion of their art and a venue of which they could be truly proud, Arteccentrix has gradually evolved and has now moved on from its operations as a straightforward retail commercial gallery.

Since the beginning of 2010, the presence of Arteccentrix in its first location at Governors Square certainly shook up a local art market that was suffering from complacency and perhaps a lack of direction and will in difficult economic times.

The gallery quickly established itself as the most innovative and forward thinking dedicated commercial art space and business in the Cayman Islands, and has been responsible for a list of “firsts” in its services to artists, businesses, retailers and customers which has undoubtedly been a catalyst for a flurry of change in the local market.

Arteccentrix offered an unrivaled commercial gallery space but its diversity went far beyond four walls on which to hang artwork. Arteccentrix was the first in Cayman to offer a first class digital imaging, reproduction and fine art printing service. The owners have pioneered the idea of art for hire and lease, run consultancy services for local businesses, raised charitable donations and promotion and forged partnerships with local businesses in promoting the arts. Owner Nickola McCoy has been active in facilitating community art projects, sourcing commissioned work for artists, and instituted a program of the most unique and beautifully curated exhibitions ever seen in the Cayman Islands. Add to that the most visited Cayman art related website and social networking pages on the web, Arteccentrix Fine Art Services is proud to lead their field in the fusion of art, innovation and technology.

This tradition of innovation and services will continue into 2011, albeit with a fairly major shift in business focus and from a new business premises.
